Meet your instructor: Claudia Chamberlain, DipWSET

Claudia Chamberlain is the Estates Regional Manager for Jackson Family Wines in the Mid-Atlantic. With multiple certifications, including WSET Diploma in Wines, WSET Level 3 in Spirits, CWE and CSE from the Society of Wine Educators, and Certified Sommelier titles, Claudia is an expert in the wine and spirits industry. She has also lived abroad in Germany and Spain, and travels whenever possible. Claudia's passion for people, culture, and wine has made her a valuable asset to the industry.

The Wine Spirit and Education Trust (WSET) is a globally recognized educational institution that provides qualifications and courses in wine, spirits, and sake.  

WSET Level 2 is designed for beginners with some introductory wine knowledge.

Led by Claudia Chamberlain, DipWSET and MW candidate, our course explores the world's principal grape varieties and the regions where they're grown, along with the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you'll learn to confidently describe wines and understand the factors that impact style and quality.

This course also features a unique focus of using  strictly Kosher wines, while providng a comprehensive overview of wines worldwide culminating with an internationally recognized credential in the wine industry with WSET's rigorous education.

WSET Level 2 is assessed through 50-question multiple-choice , closed book, exam that takes one hour to complete. The exam is taken online with remote invigilation, and those who pass receive the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, an internationally recognized credential in the wine industry.

17 guided learning hours on Zoom with direct instruction

Additional 11 hours of personal study and revision is recommended

What is included in the course fee?

The course fee includes all WSET study materials, 24 full bottles of wine from Kosherwine.com, 5 online sessions guided by Claudia Chamberlain, DipWSET and MW candidate, final examination fee, and mailing fees for certificates of achievement.

How is the exam conducted?

WSET Level 2 is assessed through 50-question multiple-choice , closed book, exam that takes one hour to complete. The exam is conducted online with remote proctoring. This means that you will take the exam from your own computer, but a proctor will monitor you remotely to ensure that you follow the exam rules. You will need a stable internet connection, a computer with a webcam, and a quiet, private location to take the exam. Further information on the technical requirements will be provided closer to the exam date.

How should I prepare for each class session?

We recommend that you have two clean glasses ready, and that you have red wines open and white wines chilled for tasting during each class. Your instructor will provide additional instructions if needed during the course. It is also a good idea to review the study materials before each session to help reinforce your understanding of the topics covered.
